The Rotary Club of Rawalpindi held its 74th Installation Ceremony on Saturday, 25 July 2026 at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Rawalpindi. Syed Aftab Hussain was installed as President of the club for 2026-27, together with the incoming board who formally took charge for the new Rotary year. Muhammad Asif takes office as Secretary for the same term.
The club was honoured to welcome Dr. Obaidullah Malik, Chief Executive Officer of the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan, as Chief Guest of the ceremony.
Esteemed Advisors PDG Adnan Saboor Rohaila and PDG Masrur J. Scheik represented RIPSA PDG Pubudu De Zoysa at the ceremony. PDG Faiza Qamar also joined the gathering, along with fellow Rotarians from clubs across Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Past Chairmen of Inner Wheel District, the Presidents of the Inner Wheel Club of Rawalpindi and the Inner Wheel Club of Rawalpindi Galaxy, Rotaractors, and the esteemed donors and friends of the Rotary Club of Rawalpindi.
The evening opened with recitation from the Holy Quran and the national anthem, followed by the welcome and the formal installation proceedings. The centrepiece was the collaring of the incoming President, the moment that marks the handover of leadership for the new Rotary year.
The club charter was presented to the incoming President, and he addressed the gathering on the club's direction for the year ahead under the Rotary International theme for 2026-27, Create Lasting Impact. He thanked the outgoing board for its service through the past year and welcomed the members who will carry the work forward.
The incoming board of directors was installed alongside the President and Secretary. Each officer and director was called forward and collared in turn, completing the team that will lead the club through 2026-27.
Shields and mementos were presented through the evening in recognition of service to the club and to the community, and the outgoing team was thanked for a full year of projects and meetings. The club also recognised the Rotaractors who supported its work.
The club records its thanks to Mrs. Sohaila Asim, President of the Inner Wheel Club of Rawalpindi Galaxy, for a generous contribution towards the school project of the Rotary Club of Rawalpindi.
The evening closed with group photographs, and dinner. Congratulations to President Syed Aftab Hussain and the incoming team, and here is to a year of service, fellowship and impact ahead.
