Rotary Club of Rawalpindi leadership 2026-27, President Syed Aftab Hussain and Secretary Muhammad Asif

Every Rotary year begins in much the same way. One team steps back, another steps forward, and the work carries on. For 2026-27, the Rotary Club of Rawalpindi is led by President Syed Aftab Hussain and Secretary Muhammad Asif.

They take office in a year that Rotary International has asked its clubs to spend on work that lasts, under the theme Create Lasting Impact. It is a fitting note for a club of this age. The Rotary Club of Rawalpindi has been serving this city for more than seven decades, and the aim for the coming year is to add to that record with service that keeps giving long after the day it is handed over.

Syed Aftab Hussain takes the chair of the club for 2026-27.

The priorities he has set for the year are the ones that keep a club strong from the inside. Full meetings. Programmes worth turning up for. Members who know one another well enough to work well together.

Alongside that sits the club's service calendar, with projects that members can take part in themselves and not only fund.

Muhammad Asif serves as Secretary of the club for 2026-27.

Much of the Secretary's work is the quiet kind. Membership records, meeting programmes, minutes, correspondence with the district and with Rotary International, and the club's reporting all pass through this office, and a club runs smoothly only when they are kept in order.

Along with that, he is working to bring the club's public record up to date, so that members, guests and the wider community can follow the club's meetings and projects as they happen rather than long afterwards.

The Year Ahead

The President and the Secretary work as a pair. One sets the direction for the year and leads from the chair, the other keeps the machinery running behind it. Around them sit the board and the committees, and beyond them the members who carry out the service itself.

The club's calendar for 2026-27 continues its long-standing commitments to polio eradication, health, education and community welfare. Projects for the year will be announced as they are confirmed.

The Rotary Club of Rawalpindi holds its regular meetings at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Rawalpindi. Members are encouraged to attend, and visiting Rotarians and guests are always welcome.

The club congratulates President Syed Aftab Hussain and Secretary Muhammad Asif, and wishes them a successful Rotary year.
